JRDN Restaurant at Tower23 Hotel

Updated: Mar 23, 2020

From farm to table and right by the sea – JRDN Restaurant located in Pacific Beach, CA, is the place to be for San Diego Restaurant week (and year round)! The atmosphere at sunset was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. With textured waves running from start to finish on the side of the restaurant wall, all the way to the warm mood lighting that softly rotated colors every few moments – this restaurant showed exactly why it’s the casual, hip, relaxed and stylish place to be on a Sunday evening.

The sunset that night just happened to be one of the best I’ve ever seen (cough, cough – now you’re just showing off San Diego) and the view from the restaurant was truly remarkable. Front row seats to see the vibrant hues reflect off the water and off of my delicious glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

We started dinner with the Chickpea Toast appetizer and holy SMOKES it was magnificent! With decadent Mediterranean notes of feta, garlic and olives, my palette was truly in heaven. Follow that up with an unforgettable large meal of Shredded Carnitas and hand made tortillas and it’s just a recipe for perfection. When I say the menu says feeds 2-3 people – it REALLY feeds 2-3 people, I would even wager to say 3-4 people. Just know you’re getting your money's worth in that meal because if it’s just two of you dining you’ll have a whole second meal for leftovers the next day! To wrap up the unforgettable evening, my friend and I ordered the Chef’s Select dessert which is a trio of yummy-ness…yes, I know that’s not a word! But it really is the perfect way to describe it! A perfectly cooked macaroon with notes of gingerbread was the first dessert, along with a tasty slice of cheesecake and followed by my FAVORITE of the three, the cannoli. The chocolate was light but sweet, with a toasty, crunchy layer of pastry topped lightly with powdered sugar – oh MY! It was definitely my favorite bite of the entire evening.

So, whether you’re looking for a new date night spot, or a fun happy hour place to catch up with friends – be sure to stop by JRDN at the Tower 23 Hotel. You can tell em @sunsmilestyle sent you!!!
